Beth Wiseman Recommends: The Life We Bury

Allen Eskens is a new author to me, and The Life We Bury is a touching story about a college student—Joe Talber—who interviews a dying Vietnam Veteran—Carl Iverson—who is also a convicted murderer. The story unravels in a way that kept me turning the pages late into the night. I also appreciated the realistic way that the author portrayed Joe’s dysfunctional family and his relationship with his autistic brother. A very good read.
