Beth Recommends…

As I’ve mentioned for several months now, I haven’t been doing much personal reading. I’ve been busy with writing deadlines, family stuff, and life in general.

But I did take a book with me to the beach recently, with the intention of finishing and recommending it here, but I just can’t. I finished it because the author was a great storyteller, and I needed to see how it ended. However, the subject matter was too graphic and disturbing for my taste.

But I just started A Prayer for Owen Meany, and I have high hopes for this one! So, stay tuned until next month! 🙂

I love all of your books but I also want to say thank you for not recommending a book, whatever it was. I appreciate your honesty and good judgment. Thank you for all the time, energy, effort, and dedication you give to writing such great books for us to read and enjoy and be inspired. May God continue to bless you with such a tremendous talent.

    Hi Beth,

I agree with you wholeheartedly regarding the subject matter of what I read. I don’t care for & don’t read anything that’s graphic or unpleasant. I used to read those types of books, but my pain psychologist recommended staying away from that type of subject matter because it could prevent me from going to sleep, or wake me up. (I have had chronic back pain for many years & I find reading very relaxing. Most nights I read before I am ready to go to sleep). After getting into this genre, I find it extremely enjoyable, interesting & relaxing & it’s the primary type of book that I read. Keep bringing out new books, you’re one of my very favorites.
