Beth Wiseman Recommends: The Pecan Man

I believe that to be a better writer, I need to read the works of other authors. I’ve always enjoyed reading, so this is not an arduous task for me. I plan to share with y’all some of my favorites. This month I chose:

The Pecan Man by Cassie Dandridge Selleck

The Pecan Man by Cassie Dandridge Selleck

The Pecan (pee-can) Man is an old homeless black man living in the woods near Ora Lee Beckworth, who narrates the story. When the sherriff’s son is found stabbed, Ora Lee befriends and defends the man she knows as Eddie who is charged with the murder. Set in Florida in the summer of 1976, this story is delightfully unpredictable.
