Set Jersey in La Grange, Texas, A July Bride is Beth’s story in a 3-novella collection entitled Summer Brides that releases on May 12. forgive

The take-away for A July Bride is that everyone deserves a second chance. Do you think so, too?

In the book of Philemon, Paul is making an appeal to a friend. Onesimus had created a debt, a relationship gap between himself and Philemon, and now Paul was asking Philemon to forgive Onesimus and accept him.

It couldn’t have been easy to be Philemon at this point, regardless of what Onesimus did.

It’s God’s grace that gives us freedom to love people even when we know they’ve done wrong. When we can remember our past and how we aren’t enslaved by it anymore, it becomes easier for latest our hearts to assume the best of other people and to give them grace.

All of us were born sinful and prone to unforgiveness, which keeps us from loving each other as well as we could. Unforgiveness is sin, and sin severs our hearts from goodness and hope.

The good news is, because of Jesus and what He did on the cross, we have grace. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. Grace takes us from our position as sinners and places us in a new role as God’s children. No longer the men and women we once were, we become a reflection of Jesus rather than the reminders of our shortcomings.

When we accept God’s grace and understand that He loves us where we are, we don’t have to grow weary fighting for His attention. We can trust that God is good and comes through on all of His promises. We can accept the little extra nuggets of goodness and favor without guilt.

A July Bride by Beth Wiseman

It was the happiest day of her life when Alyssa Pennington walked down the aisle to be united with the man of her dreams. But when Brendan left her at the altar, Alyssa was consumed by humiliation, embarrassment, and a broken heart that wouldn’t allow her to trust anyone. Brendan Hallo Myers knows he will spend the rest of his life regretting what he did to Alyssa, the only woman he’s ever loved. Now he plans to win her back. But winning back his bride might prove much more difficult than he can imagine.

An August Bride by Debra Clopton

After a cowboy broke her heart, Kelsey Wilcox traded in her boots for flip-flops and a bistro on the beautiful sandy beach of Corpus Christi. Two years later, still not believing in happy endings, she is about to endure a weekend of torture at her cousin’s beach wedding. Brent Corbin has had his share of bad luck with women and isn’t looking for love or looking forward to the weekend of wedding festivities as a groomsman for his friend, but his attention is instantly captured by Kelsey. Thrown together through the weekend and with the meddlesome encouragement from some matchmakers, Brent is determined to pursue Kelsey and change her mind about cowboys.
