What I’m working on…

Right now, I am finishing up a novella (The Gift of Sisters) for an upcoming collection that will feature three of my novellas. I am really enjoying writing this story about two twins approaching their sixteenth birthdays and the challenges that go along with being that age. Stay tuned for more information as this Amish Celebrations collection moves closer to a release date.

Reminder to subscribers: The digital version of Christmas by the Sea is FREE indefinitely. The newest release in the Surf’s Up series—The Shell Collector’s Daughter—is now available. And have you pre-ordered Book #3 in the Amish Secrets series, Home All Along, releasing in September? 🙂

Where do you go to be inspired?

Where do you go for inspiration? Relaxation? Where do you feel most creative?

For me, it is somewhere with a water view. Lucky for me, I have a nearby friend that invites me to hang out on her deck overlooking a small private lake. Two other local authors often join me. We call it Murphy’s Writing Retreat. Pictured here are Jamie Foley, author of Viper and The Sentinel Trilogy, me 🙂 and Audrey Wick, author of soon to be published Finding True North.

And when it gets too warm on the deck, we move inside. Same view, just a lot cooler. 🙂

Find my friend Audrey at her personal website or on Twitter or Instagram as @WickWrites to follow her publishing journey.

Jamie can be found at her website, or check out her clean romantic suspense and young adult books on Amazon.com.

Parker McIntyre is late evacuating Galveston Island prior to a hurricane, despite advisement from local Texas authorities. When Parker becomes trapped in rising floodwaters, he is going to drown if help doesn’t arrive soon. Fearing death and questioning his faith, he thinks about the young son he’ll be leaving behind.

Alexandria Hanson is on her way off the island to escape the immediate storm threat, but she spots a person trapped in the water. Alex—as she’s called by friends and family— isn’t adventuresome by nature. Helping the man is going to require great personal risk, but she can’t leave him to die.

As Alex joins Parker in the murky Gulf waters, a dangerous situation becomes even more serious as they wait to be rescued. With only each other to lean on, they attempt to quell their fears by praying together and sharing stories.

If Parker and Alex leave the island alive, will they have a chance to explore their feelings during the holiday season? Or will the opportunity be lost forever?

About the Author
Beth Wiseman

Award-winning, best-selling author Beth Wiseman is best known for her Amish novels, but her most recent novels, Need You Now and The House that Love Built, are contemporaries set in small Texas towns. Both have received glowing reviews. Beth's highly-anticipated novel, The Promise, is inspired by a true story.

Look Inside

Beth recommends: The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

DISCLAIMER—This novel contains language and situations that some people might find offensive.

Grip-Lit has been around for a while. Books such as Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins have helped to catapult this genre into overdrive, as more and more readers latch onto these psychological thrillers. The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware follows this trend, providing readers with a tight read filled with twists and turns that keep a reader on the edge of his or her seat.

What would you do if you were on a cruise and saw a body thrown overboard—but all of the passengers are accounted for? The Woman in Cabin 10 features a strong protagonist and has a satisfying ending. This was a page-turner for me.
